Dr. Richard Creaghe has been serving the San Rafael area since he acquired his practice in 1990. He fell in love with the area, finding the people extremely welcoming and he couldn’t be happier to help serve the community. A native of Texas, Dr. Creaghe truly has a unique story. He attended university of Hawaii and then attended the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. To support himself through dental school he worked as a roughneck on oil rigs in varied locations such as the North Slope of Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay and the South China Sea, often flying to work weekends while attending classes during the week. During his free time Dr. Creaghe loves to travel and enjoy the outdoors, especially while jet skiing.

Dr Creaghe is absolutely the best Dentist in all Marin county. I have enjoyed going to Dr C for many years for my routine dental work. His office and staff are always Clean and friendly. If you need a dentist try Dr C before you go anywhere else. Thanks Dr C

Lucky me! I meet Dr. Creaghe as a result of an emergency. Old filling gives up the ghost and my dentist of over a decade has been retired for years. I’m slammin’ Google for some options and luckily win the equivalent of Lotto!!!
I page him, and he’s back to me with options within minutes! Who IS this guy anyway? I could ‘pile on’ with accolades over Doc’s demeanor and esprit d’ corps of his staff. Other reviews are spot on. So, here are several important ‘ands’ to add to that:
First, Creaghe is an insatiable student of his craft. He’s constantly continuing his education to increase the satisfaction of his patients and his own skills. It’s clearly a passionate pursuit that pays tangible dividends for his clients.
Also, he’s a rigorous communicator who can draw the best out both this clients and staff alike. His vigor is contagious and comforting, his clarity and attention to detail unmatched in his field (I know. I’ve spent some time in the chair over the years!).
What may be surprisingly overlooked is his skill. He’s either a ‘natural,’ or extremely well-practiced…my suspicion is both. He had a temporary crown in my mouth in about 12 minutes(!) and it was superb – perfect fit, sturdy and aesthetically spot on. My followup visit for impressions and another temporary, ditto. Once my ‘emergency’ was handled, I had options to visit any other dentist of my choosing. Working out the area, I CHOSE to drive over 10 hours round trip to continue my care with Dr. Creaghe.
He’s MY new dentist and I urge you to consider him (and his wonderful staff) for your dental needs without hesitation.
Let me start this review by stating that Dr. Richard Creaghe is not just my dentist, he is also a personal friend. I tell this in the interest of full-disclosure, to lend credibility to the honesty of my review, and to provide insight beyond what other patients will see. As a dentist, Dr. Creaghe has been treating me and my wife for close to ten years.
In my younger years, I followed my job to many different parts of the country. As a result, I’ve had the experience — and sometimes the misfortune — of being treated by many different dentists over the years. Of all the dentists, Dr. Creaghe is by far the most skilled, the most knowledgeable, and the most professional (he’s also the only dentist I’ve ever known who makes a personal follow-up phone call to every patient at the end of the day). I am basing my opinions not only on my own experiences as his patient, but also from my observing him care for other patients while I’m being attended to by the hygienist. I should also mention Dr. Creaghe’s staff: they are all competent, professional, and friendly.
As Richard’s friend, one thing that I am privy to is his passion for dentistry, even outside his practice. Unlike many dentists who treat dentistry as just a job (and whose skills stagnate after leaving dental school), Dr. Creaghe actually “lives” his profession. While all dentists licensed in California are required to complete 50 hours of continuing education every 2 years, Dr. Creaghe spends many weekend days in training seminars, attending far more than the required minimum. He does this to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques, procedures, and dental technologies. Often when Richard and I meet outside of work, he will enthusiastically tell me about some of the newest developments in dentistry. As I said, Dr Creaghe is passionate about his profession! Another thing I am privy to is the amount of money Dr. Creaghe invests every year to keep his practice current with the latest and most advanced equipment (like his new “filmless” digital x-ray machines), as well as amenities to ensure that patients have a comfortable, and even enjoyable, experience.

Dr. Creaghe is a great dentist and his office staff is very nice and welcoming. I got two cavities filled by him and both were painless because he knows how to administer Novocaine like an expert. He communicated what he was doing during each step of the process and I could tell he really cared about helping me.
I also got my teeth cleaned by the dental hygienist and she did a great job. I can’t remember the last time my teeth felt so clean.

I recently went to Dr. Creaghe for the first time and I couldn’t ask for a better dentist. I
was getting a cleaning and replacing a few loose fillings, and when I told him I had sensitive
teeth he was extra careful to not cause me any pain. His chair-side manner was also very
enjoyable and upbeat as he performed his work, and I would recommend him to anyone.
I recently went to Dr. Creaghe for the first time and I couldn’t ask for a better dentist. I was getting a cleaning and replacing a few loose fillings, and when I told him I had sensitive teeth he was extra careful to not cause me any pain. Dr. Creaghe is my favorite dentist that I have ever visited. He is always there when I need him. If I was to break a tooth he would meet me down at his office ASAP. As far as san rafael dentists go, Richard Creaghe is a top my list!
